The nitty-gritty… More About Me:

I was born in Brisbane, Queensland Australia, to a pack of dingos.

My father was in construction, and we traveled the interior and outback of Australia, building houses in aboriginal communities, hospitals, and even accommodation for miners at the coal mines. Some of the towns I lived in were, Emerald, Capella, Longreach, Croydon, and Mt. Isa, For some years I was in and out of up to four schools due to my dad’s work schedule. My Mum picked up work as a Hairdresser where she could.

When I was 16 we moved to Townsville, where I left school in year 10 to be an apprentice electrician. The company I worked for shut their doors, which left me knocking on every door, street by street, till I was given a job, eventually a gas station gave me an opportunity to work as a dipstick inspector extraordinaire !!!! or what I would tell people, ‘A retail petroleum distribution technician’. After working here for some time, and starting a car wash business, I saw a job advertised in the paper as a deckhand on a parasailing boat, and I had a stab at the opportunity.

I went down and there was this beautiful Swedish deckhand, that I was too shy to even lock eyes with, I went out on the 1hr trip, and they said we will be in touch, well I wouldn’t leave, I offered to wash the boat, then dry, then polish, then clean interior, then check the engines….. I wore them down and got the job. My parents then decided it was time to leave again, and by this time I was 18 years old, and decided I did not want to go anywhere, so my parents and sister packed up and moved to the sunshine coast. From there I worked on a water taxi, ferries, dredges, landing barges, dive boat captain and divemaster, sailing instructor, water sports instructor, and fishing captain, from the top of Australia (Cape York) all the way to Tasmania.

I was having a cup of tea at my mate Joels house may years later 2003, and got a call from an Australian yacht owner, who had heard about me on the grapevine, after convincing me this was a real job and not having a lend of me (all my mates knew I was batshit crazy about Canada) 2 weeks later I was on a plane from Sydney, Australia to Sidney, Vancouver Island ~ BC Canada, as the yacht’s engineer, where I met the mother of my children. (due to time zone change, I landed in Sidney, an hour before I left Sydney Australia)
